How to Report a Suspicious Listing

Short answer: Click "Report listing" at the bottom of the listing page, choose a reason, optionally add a short note, and click "Send report". You need to be logged in, but your report isn't shared with the person you're reporting. We review it manually; the listing isn't removed automatically. If you've already paid, contact your bank and the police.

If a listing looks suspicious – or just feels off, even if you can't quite put your finger on why – report it. It takes under a minute, and it's the most direct way you can help keep LejLet.nu free of scams and low-quality listings.

When Should You Report a Listing?

Report it if, for example, you notice one of these signs:

  • The landlord wants money before you've seen the home, or can't show it to you in person
  • The price is well below what similar homes in the area cost
  • The photos turn up in other listings, under a different name or in a different country
  • The same home is listed more than once
  • The home has already been rented out, but the listing is still up

Please report it even if you're not sure. It's better for us to look at ten listings that turn out to be perfectly fine than for one real scam listing to stay up because nobody spoke up.

How to Report a Listing, Step by Step

  1. Find the "Report listing" link at the bottom of the listing page, below the "About the landlord" box. You won't see the link on your own listings.
  2. Log in if you aren't already. You'll be brought back to the listing afterwards.
  3. Click "Report listing". A small form opens right on the page.
  4. Choose a reason from the list (see below).
  5. Add a short explanation if you like. It's optional, but specific details – such as "the landlord is asking for a deposit before the viewing" – make it easier for us to act quickly.
  6. Click "Send report".

You can choose between these reasons:

  • Looks like a scam (fake landlord, payment before viewing, etc.)
  • Misleading information or photos
  • The same home is listed more than once
  • The home has already been rented out
  • Other

Requiring a login is a deliberate choice, so reports can't be submitted anonymously and in bulk. The person you report isn't told that it was you.

What Happens After You Submit It?

Your report is saved, and we're notified immediately. From there, we review it manually. We can't yet promise a fixed response time, but a report with a clear, specific explanation is easier to act on quickly than one without.

If a listing turns out to be misleading or a scam, we can remove it. But a report doesn't remove a listing automatically – it gets reviewed manually, and we act on what we find. So even after you've reported a listing, the advice in How to Avoid Rental Scams in Denmark still applies: never pay anything before you've seen the home in person and signed a lease.

Can You Report a User, Too?

Yes. If it's a message rather than a listing that seems wrong, you can report the sender directly from the conversation with "Report user". You can choose between:

  • Harassment or threatening behaviour
  • Scam attempt (payment outside the platform, suspicious links, etc.)
  • Inappropriate messages
  • Spam or repeated unwanted messages
  • Other

If you don't want to hear from the person again, choose "Block user". You then can't send each other messages until you lift the block yourself.

What If You've Already Paid?

A report on LejLet.nu can't get your money back – we don't process any payments. Contact your bank right away to try to have the transfer stopped, take screenshots of the listing and the conversation, and report the fraud to the police at politi.dk. Then report the listing and the sender here too, so others don't get caught. See the full steps in 7 Signs of a Rental Scam.
